Report of the Data Sharing and Aggregation Workgroup
January 22, 2007
The Data Sharing and Aggregation Workgroup focused on moving forward with consideration of who could serve as the National Health Data Stewardship Entity (NHDSE). To that end, the workgroup considered a request for information (RFI) or request for proposals (RFP) process for determining potential entities. The workgroup decided that a RFI was a better process to pursue as it is a non-binding way to gather important information and would hopefully engage a broad number of potential candidates.
The HIT Subcommittee’s Administrative Data Task Force decided to explore possible cooperation with the American Health Information Community (AHIC) to avoid duplicative efforts and review the work of other organizations on the subject of defining administrative data.
Objectives for the session:
- Discuss the proposed RFI draft process for the National Health Data Stewardship Entity (TAB A)
- Review the work of the HIT Subcommittee and the Administrative Data Task Force (TAB B)
- Update on the AQA Pilot Project
Materials:
TAB A: National Health Data Stewardship Entity
TAB B: HIT Subcommittee
