Report of the Data Sharing and Aggregation Workgroup
October 24, 2006
The Data Sharing and Aggregation Workgroup agreed on a process for determining potential entities that could serve as the National Health Data Steward as well as a list of characteristics that the entity should exhibit. The Workgroup has reviewed this characteristics document and is recommending endorsement by the AQA. The HIT Subcommittee continued to discuss terminology that should be included in the HIT Glossary. This Subcommittee also created an Administrative Data Task Force that will work to clarify the meaning of administrative data by determining what data elements to include and how these data flow from the point of care through the various data flow steps. The AQA Pilot Project continues to make great progress toward the goals of meaningful performance measurement and effective public reporting.
Objectives for the session:
- Review and endorse the Characteristics of the National Health Data Stewardship Entity document (TAB A)
- Review the work of the HIT Subcommittee and the Administrative Data Task Force (TAB B)
