Report of the Data Sharing and Aggregation Workgroup
April 26, 2006
On the recommendation of the AQA Steering Committee and approval at the January 2006 meeting, the Data Sharing and Aggregation Workgroup established a subgroup on health information technology (HIT Subgroup). The HIT Subgroup developed a mission statement, scope of work, principles, and an HIT glossary. The Data Sharing and Aggregation Workgroup has reviewed the documents and is recommending endorsement by the AQA. Additionally, the Data Sharing and Aggregation Workgroup revised the Health Data Stewardship Board document in light of the December 2005 publication of the IOM Report, Performance Measurement: Accelerating Improvement and interest by the workgroup to focus on the scope of work and potential existing entities that could fulfill their role.
The AQA pilot project has also initiated the implementation efforts in the six pilot sites. The six sites were announced publicly March 1, 2006 and are on target to begin collecting data in May/ June 2006.
