Health Care Quality Leaders Join Forces
July 21, 2006: WASHINGTON -- Two key health care quality alliances, the AQA alliance and the Hospital Quality Alliance (HQA), have formed a new national Quality Alliance Steering Committee to better coordinate the promotion of quality measurement, transparency and improvement in care.

December 12, 2006: Carolyn Clancy welcomed the group. Dr. Clancy stated that the next in-person meeting would be on January 10th.

August 4, 2006: The meeting was called to order by Carolyn Clancy at 1 p.m. EDT at the Kaiser Family Foundation Barbara Jordan Conference Center located in Washington, DC. Dr. Clancy welcomed the members of the AQA-HQA Steering Committee and their staff.

August 24, 2006: This document summarizes the proceedings from the Transparency Summit convened by Secretary Leavitt on August 24, 2006. Secretary Leavitt opened the meeting with the following set of objectives that, if met, would define a successful meeting.

October 23, 2006: This document summarizes the proceedings of the Quality Alliance Steering Committee Meeting on October 23, 2006. Secretary Leavitt opened the meeting and outlined current progress and goals for the future of the payer community.

AQA-HQA Steering Committee Workgroups
August 17, 2006: As discussed in the initial AQA-HQA Steering Committee Meeting that took place on August 4, 2006, five work groups are being established that will help focus attention on particular efforts that are needed to accomplish the goals set forth for by the Committee.
